We're all in a looking glass world

Hi, I am not sure if I am the first on here but certainly I am not the last one to say that we've done it. We have finally done it. We have managed to somehow alter the world, warp it and change it forever. Things are faster, more intense, life has got very interesting we live at the cusp. Some sort of quickening. That's great.

Alas we have, at the same time, thrown out the baby with the bathwater. We have managed to create a culture that's becoming homogenised, infintilised, anomic to the point of perversion, incapable of scrutinising itself and setting its own limits.

So far ... so good. I have said nothing original. I have used a digital soapbox to let off a little steam an probably a quick rant in the Speaker's Corner at Hyde Park would have done the job. Except I'm going to use this blog to bring up some real-life issues with real-life proof and see if i am the only suffering what appear to be regular sagas over the tiniest problems which manage to become almost insurmountable simply because someone will not use initiative, make a judgement or simply stop and think.

In Britain we used to pride ourselves in our ability to use our judgement. Our common sense. Well, it appears that we are now either so beset by life that we cannot be bothered...we just mouth what the screens in front of us tell us to mouth or we have lost all those capacities, some of us completely.

I am not going to make judgements here and I wil not let my anger colour the facts.

So, I will list the facts and let's see if anyone else faces similar issues. It could be I'm the only one in this Looking Glass world in which case...gosh. How did I get here, and can anyone help me escape?

So...time is running short. Tomorrow we kick start the whole thing with The Mobile Phone saga.

Until then...cheerio!
